Commerx Year In Review for 2005

2005 was a tremendous year for Commerx Corporation, as we saw the size, scale and scope of the projects undertaken on behalf of our growing client base expand and continue to evolve into new and exciting areas. One interesting observation was the increased adoption of both Content Management Systems (CMS) and Intranet systems by our many clients, as we implemented significant quantities of these technologies across a wide variety of systems and platforms. As the Internet space - and related technologies - continues to evolve and transform, so do the variety of solutions Commerx can delivered as part of our service offerings.

Key business enhancements at Commerx in 2005 included:

  • The acquisition of expanded office space - our new space is a bright, open environment that certainly suits our corporate style. Our location now boasts a gallery showcase of completed work that is displayed throughout the entire office, so our clients can feel at home walking through our office amongst the staff at work.
  • We have added 7 key staff to our roster of talented employees over the year that allows us to streamline management, technical support, development and operations to ensure that we are well prepared for the design and development of new, leading technologies as we move forward.
  • We have also made significant hardware and software upgrades throughout the entire company this year, including computer upgrades, server upgrades and key business operations software.
  • We are also very pleased with the number of new customers who utilized our services in 2005, which now brings the total to over 160 companies who draw on our products and services within the Internet space.

In 2006 we will continue to move forward and offer the best products and services available to our many valued clients!

Commerx Releases AlertMeFirst Version 5.0

Commerx Corporation, a leading provider of Internet solutions, today announced the upgrade of their AlertMeFirst web monitoring service to version 5.0.

New features & functionality in version 5.0 include:

  • Redesigned & revamped account administration area, with new interface and navigation
  • WPS (weekly performance stats) reports are now colour-coded and display the actual down time in minutes
  • New time zone setting (per device) and alert contact, which allow for easier local time matching
  • Improved site monitoring accuracy by means of improved cross-monitoring engine failure detection and backup engine activation
  • Reduced false alerts rate caused by intermittent connection problems at the monitoring site
  • Previously separate alert and trace route messages have been combined into one alert message showing both sets of information
  • Consolidated a number of previously-separate configurations with a centralized one
  • Improved backup mail server support for sending alerts from inside the engine

Commerx Develops E-Learning System for Enform

Commerx Corporation, a leading provider of Internet solutions, today announced the completion of the e-learning system for Enform, the largest oil and gas training facility in the world. The robust e-learning system developed for Enform allows for the easy deployment of video-based instruction learning modules, as well as any other web-based instructional format, as the system allows for new courses to be added to the system in a very rapid and simple fashion. Administration is handled by designated Enform employees using the Commerx-developed Enform Intranet system and students are able to register for new courses, view their account details and communicate with Enform staff - all via an easy-to-use web-based system. This e-learning system is part of Commerx's on-going work for Enform, through which we have established a common, consistent and solid platform to build off of.

Commerx Develops New Web Site for the Calgary Police Service.

Commerx Corporation, a leading provider of Internet solutions, today announced the launch of the Youth Link Calgary web site, developed for the Calgary Police Interpretive Centre. The Centre was looking to create a fun and interactive web site that would target children in grades four to six to inform them of the dangers of drugs, gangs, unsafe Internet usage, as well as provide reference materials for teachers and parents.

Janet Pieschel, Executive Director for the Calgary Police Service offered the following statement: "Commerx was a great company to work with - they took over the project once it was under way but quickly grasped what we wanted to accomplish with our web site and were very flexible. We are thrilled with the end product."

Commerx provides "AlertMeFirst" Web Site Monitoring Software to Isochron LLC

Commerx Corporation, a leading provider of Internet solutions, today announced that Isochron LLC www.isochron.com has selected AlertMeFirst as their web site monitoring software. Isochron, headquartered in Austin, Texas, provides networked statistical vending ecommerce software to one of the world's largest soft drink companies. Isochron based their selection of the AlertMeFirst product on the product's robust technology, administration flexibility and the capability to monitor custom applications.

With the installation of the AlertMeFirst product, Isochron can now ensure critical uptime on their web site and provide web site monitoring that allows them to monitor the performance and availability of their web site, as well as that of any of their other Internet devices, on a 24/7 basis. The monitoring services provided to Isochron by AlertMeFirst include web site monitoring, server monitoring, network monitoring and web site performance monitoring. The AlertMeFirst software also provides Isochron with minute, daily, weekly and monthly reporting.

Commerx Releases AlertMeFirst Version 4.2

Commerx Corporation, a leading provider of Internet solutions, today announced the new release of AlertMeFirst Version 4.2. AlertMeFirst provides remote web site monitoring that allows you to monitor the performance and availability of your web site, as well as that of any of your other Internet devices, on a 24/7 basis. Some of the monitoring services provided by AlertMeFirst include web site monitoring, server monitoring, network monitoring and web site performance monitoring.

Included in this version upgrade are some significant "under the hood" technological improvements:

  • Created & deployed a third AMF system internally within Commerx's data centre, to provide an isolated development platform for on-going system enhancements and expansion
  • Modified the WPS (Weekly Performance Statistics) functionality to send out notices to designated contacts.
  • Integrated a system-wide configuration file, to allow for rapid updating and expansion of key system configuration details.
  • Automated the daily input of the Bank of Canada U.S. currency exchange rate.
  • Switched over credit card validation to utilize Moneris as the primary online credit card system.
  • Switched over secure-socket layer technology to a new provider.
