We are looking for an experienced PHP developer with additional in-depth knowledge of RoR to join our team of web professionals. You will be working in a fast-paced team environment where you will be responsible for helping develop small to enterprise sized web applications and sites. Commerx provides a collaborative environment where everybody's opinions are valued and, as such, we will look to you for suggestions and ideas as to how best realize a client's vision through code.

Requirements:

- Extensive real-world development experience with PHP development (both developing custom coding and modifying existing PHP-based solutions)

- In-depth development experience with RoR development (both developing custom coding and modifying existing RoR-based solutions)

- Experience in large project development, development lifecycles, development methodologies and project scoping

- Strong knowledge in hand-coding PHP, RoR, HTML, CSS, JavaScript

- Familiarity with such database platforms as MySQL, SQL Server, Access

- Familiarity with Linux an asset

- Proficiency with cross-browser/cross-platform issues

- Must be able to hand code (without WYSIWYG HTML editors)

- Experience in working within a team environment

- Understanding about issues related to scalability and reliability

- Strong knowledge of database structure and design

- Experience working on projects from conception through delivery, including developing and deploying to production architectures
